Municipal Regional Stormwater NPDES Permit Compliance Support | Newark, California

Industry: Public, Municipal

Services: Stormwater

S2S serves as lead consultant for the City of Newark to support their Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Verification and Business Stormwater Inspections program. This is required by the Municipal Regional Stormwater Permit (MRP), Provisions C.3 and C.4. S2S conducts stormwater inspections at industrial and commercial facilities and at stormwater quality permanent and low impact development (LID) BMPs within the City of Newark. S2S conducts 130 inspections per year on average.
As part of these inspections, the inspector documents the onsite activities and operations of the facility, determines the appropriate primary and secondary Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code(s), identifies deficiencies and corrective actions, completes an inspection report and provides Facility Status Summary Reports. If deficiencies are identified S2S staff communicates and coordinates with the facility representative to implement corrective actions. At every inspection, we provide the facility/owner with Alameda County Clean Water Program educational materials to inform compliance with the Federal Clean Water Act. S2S has experienced inspectors who are confident and familiar with the construction and industrial stormwater general permits and necessary BMPs to comply with the California Water Board laws and regulationsS2S uses a new app called Field Maps to support C.3 inspection reporting. This app utilizes AGOL for simple reporting that is directly connected to the City of Newark.
